Emmanuel and Frederick Humbert are the two brothers that run this small 6 hectars family Domaine. Before the addition of Marsannay in 1987, Fixin (pronounced by most as ‘Fiss-in’ or ‘Fee-sin’) made up the most northerly appellation of the Côte d’Or. These wines tend to be very masculin, somewhat rustic and structured.

The Domaine Humbert Freres 2007 AC Fixin is full and a little bit rustic as well. The wine offers intense fruity aromas of cherries with bright acidity and a firm finish. On the palate this Fixin has good minerality and great intensity. The finish offers well integrated tannins, earth-infused flavors and a classic Fixin persistency. Great wine at $45 retail.
